Interview with Maryna Khramtsova: An experienced ERP consultant
Maryna, tell us about your education and what you were passionate about as a student.
I graduated from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” with a Master’s degree in International Business Management. As a student, I enjoyed studying English as well as courses related to information technology. I was always involved in sports and even took Irish dancing for a while.
How did your career path begin?
My first job was as an auditor. Since I had a strong background in accounting from university, I was good at it. However, I quickly realized that audit was interesting, but not quite the field I wanted to pursue my career in. Then I worked as an analyst in an IT company.
In both jobs, I worked with various ERPs and saw their shortcomings and limitations, which made me wonder what else was on the market. That’s how I learned about Microsoft products, which I linked my future career with.
How many years have you been in the profession?
Almost 5 years.
What do you like and dislike about your job?
I like the opportunity to work on different projects and with clients from different countries – each task is unique and interesting. I also like that the field of work requires constant development and professional growth.
The only thing I don’t like is the resistance to change that I sometimes see in users. For example, when they are not morally ready to switch to a new, albeit better product.
In what new roles have you been able to discover yourself within your current position at Clarity?
Public speaking, interviewing C-level executives and discussing process improvements with them, conducting training, mentoring junior consultants, and creating content for YouTube. The tasks are interesting and varied.
What inspires you and gives you a sense of significance?
Inspiration is my default state, as is a sense of significance. At Clarity – I can’t imagine it any other way.
How do you deal with burnout and mentally unwind?
Delegation of tasks and a variety of projects help in work. In my free time, of course, sports.
Give some advice to those who are just getting acquainted with the profession and want to have a great interview at Clarity Ukraine.
Before the interview, I advise you to familiarize yourself with the capabilities and advantages of the product that you will be working with in the future. Be interested in what career development paths are available and ask yourself: what do you want to achieve and in what direction to develop?
At the interview, it will not be superfluous to demonstrate the skills of effective communication and creativity.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to continue to develop my career in ERP consulting and become a recognized expert in this field. I also want to share my knowledge and experience with others and help them build a successful career in this exciting field.
