Сapabilities of the Business Central ERP system for small and medium-sized businesses
Today we’re going to take a look at the capabilities of the Business Central ERP system for small and medium-sized businesses to improve inventory management, sales planning, and customer and supplier relations.
Clarity also has solutions for relatively small companies, as Business Central can meet the needs of companies of all sizes by adapting to their business area and local challenges.
An excellent example is our client Nova Syla, a regional player in the automotive parts distribution market. The company has been operating since 2000 and is a confident leader in its home region of Transcarpathia. Shortly before the war broke out before it had become a general trend, the company decided to start migrating from 1C: Accounting to Dynamics 365 Business Central with Ukrainian localization.
The goal of the first phase of the project is to transfer all accounting processes to the Business Central platform. The next phase will involve the migration of the company’s operational contour – trade, warehousing, and integration with the web store.
The plan to set up and migrate the data took 3 months of work.
For companies that deal with goods (distributors, builders, manufacturers, etc.), two paradoxically opposite things are always relevant:
- The desire to satisfy customers with the availability of goods and fast order fulfillment.
- The need to keep as little stock as possible in warehouses. This consumes funds that are taken out of circulation and often “frozen” if goods are not sold at the expected pace.
How does Business Central help with both of these issues?
Weighted stock management is a complex block of functionality in Business Central. This block contains many settings that help the company to get a transparent picture of the current situation of needs (contracts, sales orders, movement requests, production needs) and stock levels.
The system makes recommendations on what goods need to be purchased now, in what quantities and from which supplier, and what goods need to be moved from one warehouse to another. The recommendations are based on parameters such as insurance and maximum stock levels, supplier delivery times, delivery quantity conditions, duration of movement between the company’s warehouses, etc.
Without such a universal tool, it is virtually impossible to analyze and make quick decisions about purchasing and the movement of goods within a company. That is why Business Central is here to help you!
